Description: Fantastic very rare wicker music stand made by Wakefield
Rattan Co. This piece has four solid quartered oak shelves with shaped
fronts. The bottom shelf has a round stain on it. The top portion has a
beveled mirror (replaced) set into a fabulous harp with profuse curlicues
and fancy beehive wrappings around the posts. Fancy original flat brass
knobs hold the sides of the mirror to the frame. This piece is pictured and
described on page 208 of Official 1984 price guide to Wicker by Richard
Sauders. It has had some restoration including the mirror frame, some
curlicues and wrapping. Wicker was seldom made in this form. This is a
very special piece for the serious collector!
