Description: Fantastic quality solid mahogany bench attributed to Paine
Furniture Company, Boston. The front and sides of this piece are beautifully
carved with leaves and shells. The deep recessed panels are bordered by a
ring and sausage molding. The front of the seat and base swell out in the
middle. Notice the lovely rope molding around the edge of the seat. The
back has the original black tufted leather upholstery. There is a shadow on
the back where an oval label once was applied. The shape of the shadow is
the exact shape of Paine Furniture Company labels. These photos don't do
this bench justice. The quality of the wood and the crispness of the
carvings make this a superior piece of late Victorian furniture!
