Description: Rosewood Rococo Victorian armchair made by John Henry Belter. It features typical Belter "C" scrolls in the back with a lovely floral crest. There are detailed floral and grape carvings under the arms, skirt and cabriole front legs. The chair sits on the original brass castors. The fabric is old. There are some very minor blisters in the top layer of laminate on the back of the chair. I could not find this pattern referenced. It is somewhere between the more common Rosalie and Henry Clay patterns by Belter. This is a solid attractive armchair by the foremost furniture maker of the period!
