Description: Fancy laminated rosewood Rococo Victorian armchair. It has a lovely solid open carved floral crest. The frame of the chair is a band of laminated rosewood with a very ornate cutout carved design between that and the upholostered portions. The skirt and cabriole front legs also have floral carvings. A somewhat similar chair is shown on page 45 of "The Furniture of John Henry Belter and the Rococo Revival" by Marvin D. Schwartz. This has the original brass castors and old fabric.
