Description: Matched pair of high style Renaissance Revival rosewood
Victorian sidechairs attributed to Pottier and Stymus, NYC. They are very
solid and heavy. The tops have deep intricately carved crests. The round
sides are fluted and have open carved tops. The chairs are decorated with
applied rosettes and gilt incised carvings. They were originally from the
Union Hotel in Saratoga, NY. Pottier and Stymus provided most of the
interior furnishings for the hotel. They have been recently reupholstered -
good shape with very minor stain. A wonderful pair of chairs!
