Description: Fantastic walnut American made Victorian armchair. The frame features fabulous three dimensional intricate carvings of a stag being brought down by two dogs and two children with arrows and spears. Notice two more dogs emerging from the top of the arm rests! The arm fronts have lion heads and end in well defined carved claw feet. We had this chair reupholstered with a pleated skirt. This chair was obviously made by a very skilled carver. The back reminds us of pieces made by Alexander Roux, NYC while the front and legs would indicate George Henkels, Philadelphia.
