Description: Fabulous 159 piece set of sterling silver flatware in the Radiant pattern by The Whiting Mtg. Co. It was patd in 1896. The set consists of a number of place settings as shown in the first photo. From left to right there are 6 tiny pickle forks, 6 larger pickle forks, 13 luncheon forks, 16 slightly larger dinner forks, 14 large dinner knives, 12 smaller luncheon knives, 10 butter knives, 12 soup spoons, 14 large spoons, 22 larger teaspoons, 14 demitasse spoons, 6 small soup or serving spoons. In addition there 14 serving pieces including several large ladles. These are pictured together in a separate photo. Most of the pieces are monogrammed although a number of them are not and were probably purchased at a later date. There is some normal wear to some of the larger knife handles. The entire set weights approximately 196 troy ounces (counting the knives as 1/2 ounce each since only the handles are sterling). This set came from an important collection of silver in an estate in Chatham, Massachusetts.
