overseas sales must be paid for by bank wire transfer in U.S. funds.
Massachusetts residents must pay the 5% state sales tax. If you are
purchasing the item for resale and produce a valid tax exempt certificate
you are exempt from sales tax.

About Pricing
At Southampton Antiques our prices are not negotiable. If an item is paid for in full within 2 weeks, the following discounts are allowed (note: discount is per individual item purchased)

We try to describe items as accurately as we can. Condition is a relative term. The following is a glossary of a few terms we use:
"Excellent Original" - An item with this description has a clear original finish where the grain of the wood is plainly visible. There are few if any blemishes on the wood surface.
"Good Original" - Like the above but the finish is a bit more uneven. Some places might have a bit of crazing in the finish. Surfaces may have some small nicks or scratches.
"Fair Original" - The piece will generally be dark with some alligatoring of the finish. In some places the grain of the wood will be hard to make out.
"Restored Original" - Some finishes are in very good shape but have accumulated dirt and wax buildup over the years. We thoroughly clean and over-spray a piece with this finish to give it a consistent appearance. This process also adds depth to the finish.
"Restored and Refinished" - We have done some restoration on the piece before it was refinished. We are very proud of our refinishing and restoration work and we try to do it in a manner whereby the repairs are very hard or impossible to discern. Please feel free to ask what was done.
"Refinished" - If a piece is in fine condition but with a highly crazed finish we will have it refinished. Expect a clear even finish with the grain of the wood mostly filled. For the best results we use a combination of shellac and lacquer depending on the piece.
About Catalogue Dimensions
In the catalogue we give the dimensions of each piece. Keep in mind we are listing the Maximum sizes. For example, if a sideboard has a shaped front, the depth listed here will be the distance from the back of the piece to the furthest point out from the wall. For sets of chairs the dimensions of the armchair are given.
Our Guarantee
We guarantee the authenticity and condition of every item that we sell. We are proud to say that in the 33 years we have been in business not one item has ever been returned because of misrepresentation, in fact, no item has ever
been returned at all. When you receive your item:
1. Inspect it immediately
2. If you are not satisfied give it back to the delivery service and call us.
3. When we receive it back we will refund your money immediately.
4. Arrangements for a return must be made within
one week of acceptance of the initial delivery
Note: You will be charged for the two way transportation costs by the delivery service.

Although we recommend these companies, we are only responsible for the merchandise while it is in our possession. We strongly suggest that our customers purchase insurance when having an item shipped. If you need assistance dealing with any of these companies we will be glad to help you out.
