Description: Sweet little Rococo rosewood Victorian etagere cabinet made in New York City. Above a shaped top shelf sits a fancy carved crest with raised shaped panels. The frame for the top mirror has open carved sides and a shaped shelf that cuts across the middle. Fancy turned columns with a carved finial support this shelf. The base has a drawer, mirrored door cupboard and paneled sides. The front is decorated with scroll, flower and nut carvings. The drawer has a carved pull and racetrack molding. Fancy shaped moldings surround the lower mirror. Both the drawer and cupboard interiors are made of satinwood - an indication of the work of the better NYC makers. There is one shelf in the bottom. The mirrors are both original with some normal loss to the silver backing. A very formal cabinet with nice narrow proportions!
