Description: Magnificent large mahogany S rolltop desk made by Cutler Desk Company, Buffalo, NY (signed inside top drawer). This desk features gorgeous carvings on the top and front and raised panels on the sides and back. The roll is made up of fancy large curved slats. There are four larger size horizontal drawers in the interior along with a number of cubbies. The cubbies can be exposed by sliding the fronts from one side to the other. There is a revolving inkwell in the middle. This consists of a metal holder with three original glass ink bottles (one is missing on the top). There is a wooden pen holder just above the inkwell. The banks of each side have a file drawer on the bottom with three smaller drawers and a pullout writing slide above. When the roll is lowered the drawers lock. There is a open slot on each side of the curved top for sliding mail into the desk when it is locked. This desk comes all apart for easy moving and reassembly.
