Description: Stylish Renaissance Revival walnut Victorian ebonized pedestal. It has a removable top covered by an old (possibly original) piece of velvet. The front features an oval hand painted porcelain of a lady carrying a basket near a brook. There is a wreath of flowers beneath her and her mansion is in the background. An inlaid panel is featured in the middle of either side. The inlay has a floral, wreath, and musical instrument motif. There are decorative incised carvings above and below the inlay. These carvings and some of the moldings are enhanced with original gilt. There has been some very minor restoration of the gilt. We were lucky to find a pedestal decorated with both a porcelain and inlay! Circa: 1870 Dimensions: 37"H x 16"W x 16"D Finish: Good old original surface, which we lightly polished. Price: $6950.00
