Description: Description: Fancy Renaissance Revival walnut Victorian candlestand. This piece retains most of its original turquoise polychrome, gilt and ebonized decoration. The top has the original fabric with the incised decoration around the edge. There are original brass chains that drape between the skirts. A fancy round brass band fits around the center pedestal. It sets on four hoof feet. There are some small chips in the upper back parts of the feet - only can be seen from the underside. This identical pedestal (minus the original chains) is pictured on page 91 of Styles of American Furniture 1860-1960 by Eileen and Richard Dubrow.
