Description: Victorian walnut stand with a most unusual micro mosaic
top.
The inset top is made out of many tiny pieces of wood of different
colors
that were used to form the image of an eagle in the middle of a ring
made of
triangles. We have not had a piece of micro mosaic made out of wood
before - usually they are made from tiny pieces of marble. The rim
has a
small old repair - and there has been minor restoration to the mosaic
design. The base is fluted at the top and has open carved legs. An
interesting stand!
