Description: High Back Victorian Walnut Swivel Chair with an incised
shaped burl panel on the top, open burl work above the seat, wonderfully curled arms, and Heywood Bros. trademark. The right
medallion says "Heywood Bros & Co, Gardner, Mass, Pat. Jan 7, 1873."
The left medallion is a replacement. The top sits on the original adjustable
base with more open work and carvings. We had this handsome chair
custom reupholstered in black leather. This is the large model. A similar chair is illustrated
on page 36 of "Styles of American Furniture" by Eileen and Richard Dubrow.
