Description: Handsome Mahogany Winged Griffin Library Partner Table with a beautifully carved solid top. There are deep scroll carvings around the perimeter in a thick border with cartouche shields on each corner. The apron is both curved and carved with fine leaf and scroll carvings that is finished with a fancy edge molding. Four stern looking winged griffins support the top on each end. The griffins with small beards, pronounced chests, claw feet, and wing feathers are especially well defined. There is a graceful shaped platform base with large bun feet. From top to bottom, the table is in fine original finish and condition. We attribute this handsome table to be the work of R. J. Horner, New York.
