Description: Rare Rosewood Victorian chest of drawers with original inset
white marble top (some normal staining) signed by Alexander Roux, NYC.
There is a gorgeous compartmentalized satinwood interior. The original Roux
label is in the middle. There are three graduated drawers with a secret
drawer in the bottom. The top three drawers each has two delicately carved
pulls, track molding, and a large three dimensional intricate carvings in the
middle. The sides of the case also have fancy carvings. Notice the
gorgeous grain of the rosewood on the front and sides of the chest! This
piece originally had a mirror. A lovely chest by one of the premier NYC
furniture makers of the period!
