Description: Walnut Renaissance Revival Victorian six graduated drawer lockside chest with the original tear drop pulls. The entire front of the chest is decorated with shaped raised burled panels with incised carvings. The right side swings open to allow the drawers to open up. Originally this mechanism was used to keep the maid out of the gentleman's chest. We don't have the original key but most people today don't lock the drawers - it is just a novelty.
