Description: Fantastic turn of the century mahogany matching ladies and
gent's chests. Each has a thick shaped beveled mirror. The mirror frames
are richly carved with a top crest and lion heads on the sides. The lion
head motif is also carried out on the sides of the chest. The tall chest
has a hat box compartment on the right side. Each of the drawer bottoms and
hatbox base are made of birdseye maple - a sure sign of superior quality!
The drawer fronts are serpentine shaped. There are carved feet in the front
and carving on the base skirt. The drawers have extra fine quality with original
fancy cast brass hardware. Notice the fantastic mahogany grain on the
drawers. These pieces were made by Carrollton Furniture Mtg. Co in
Carrollton, Kentucky (see photo of the back of the tall chest). We have the
original castors for each piece although they are pictured without them. This suite is of
exceptional quality and fantastic clean original condition!
