Description: Fancy Rococo walnut Victorian walnut etagere made by George W. Ware and Company, Boston, MA. A grape, nut, and leaf carved crest is flanked by two open carved fretwork panels. The arched original mirror has three graduated shaped shelves on each side. The shelves are held up by round
turn spindles with carved finials at the top. The back frame is all open
carved. There has been some repair to the bottom carved panel. A
serpentine shaped drawer with carved pull on the bottom has a conforming
original marble top. This piece is shown on page 92 of "Styles of American
Furniture 1860-1960" by Eileen and Richard Dubrow. A very attractive
etagere!
