Description: Fabulous Rococo Victorian walnut halltree. The features a
carved crest, open carved gingerbread in a "window" and three quarter round
carved trim. The central arched mirror is flanked on both sides with three
smaller shaped mirrors (all original mirrors with some silver loss). There
are ten fancy turned hat hooks, race track molding and two drop finials in
the middle section. A lovely original curved white marble sits on the
middle shelf. A drawer with an intricate grape and leaf carved pull is
under the marble. The base has an open carved back and supports, two large
finials and two wonderful original cast iron drip pans. The drip pans have
an unusual design with a face, horns and head dress? A support was
previously put across the back of the halltree for extra support. There is
a small seam separation down the middle of the frame (see photo of back) .
We seldom get Rococo Victorian halltrees - normally they are Renaissance
Revival or Eastlake period. This is really one of the best!
