Description: Magnificent exceptional quality rosewood Renaissance Revival
Victorian mirror. The top has carvings including gilded grapes and applied
buttons. Three porcelain hand painted medallions (probably French Sevres)
are surrounded by fancy brass trim. The sides have full fluted and carved
columns. The mirror itself is original. All original gold and black
decoration was used to highlight the carvings and moldings. Some parts of
the base molding has been professionally restored. This was most likely
made by Pottier and Stymus, NY, although we can not make a certain
attribution. We had the original surface polished and a thin overcoat
applied to even out the finish.
