Description: Wonderful Aesthetic Victorian style walnut dining table made
by Moore and Campion, Philadelphia. There are remnants of a label under the top
- see photo. The skirt has an incised line carved decoration. The split
pedestal base has extensive carving with wonderful style. Notice the well
defined carved claw feet. The table has eight original 15.5" leaves. When
opened all the way, as shown in the photo, it is 175" long! Since the
leaves were likely kept in a rack over the years, they are lighter in tone
than the top of the table. There is a leg that is just off center to help
support the middle of the table when the leaves are in. This stylish table,
by one of Philadelphia's best makers, can seat a lot of people for that
Thanksgiving dinner!
