Description: Fabulous 60" solid quartered oak dining table made by "Grobhiser and Crosby Furniture Co, Sturgis, Michigan." Part of label is on one of the pedestals - see photo. The top has an exceptionally fine tiger oak grain and features an intricate band of carving several inches in from the edge. The thick skirt has a deep rounded curve. It has a split pedestal base with very thick carvings and dynamic well defined claw feet. The table has an original center leg and a mechanism that draws the base together when the table is closed (see photo). We purchased this wonderful table from a local estate. It came with no leaves but has slides so that leaves could be used. We have three 12" wide leaves that we would sell with the table. Further work would be needed to have them fitted to the table, carved (if desired) and finished to match the top. Of course the table looks best in the round form without leaves but the leaves would add versatility. This is one of the best claw tables we have offered for many years!
