Description: Fabulous quality mahogany slant lid desk. The top gallery has a mahogany railing with fancy brass spindles. The lid and base have very detailed and sharp carvings. The base has a top drawer, two drawers on each side, and a cupboard door in the middle. The door and slant lid feature a carved face in the middle. The drawers have exceptional ornate original cast brass hardware with a face in the middle. The lid rests on two pullout supports. Two small drawers and number of cubbies make up the interior. The desk rests on four ball in claw feet. There are two toes missing on the front foot (see photo) and one on the back. This very heavy and finely executed desk was likely made by R. J. Horner, NYC but we could not find a label.
