Description: Fabulous walnut Renaissance Revival Victorian two part
butler's secretary. The top section has a wonderful open carved crest with
a burled panel and a carved wolf's head in the middle. The top portion has
two Jenny Lind heads on each corner. There are four adjustable shelves and
the doors have shaped glass surrounded by a fancy molding. The base has the
pullout desk drawer with ornate pulls. The doors and drawer front are
decorated with lovely burled panels and applied carved buttons. The sides
of the case are champhored and have a burled face. The desk interior has
two drawers with burled fronts, cubbies and cutout sides. A leather writing
surface showing some wear was put down by a previous owner. If you wished
we could have a shelf made for the bottom cupboard. The top shelves and
interior show evidence of having been painted in the past although most of
paint has since been removed. A majestic piece of Victorian furniture
suitable in the office, dining room or library!
