Description: Signed Cast Iron Aquarium with a hexagonal shaped top of
vertical glass panels within an ornate notched and molded iron framework.
There are pointed fancy shaped finials at the top corner of each panel. The center post is
shaped at the top and also six sided in the middle with a square ornate plinth
base. The raised plaque on the base reads "WM ADAMS & CO, 360 N 9th ST,

for drainage. This spectacular piece could be refitted again as an aquarium or
would also make a beautiful terrarium. The work of William Adams is cited in
"Antique Garden Ornament" by Barbara Israel with his work listed between
1888 - 1892. A similar hexagonal aquarium (by a different maker) is shown
on page 213.
