Description: Rare Victorian Egyptian Revival Standing Bedroom Safe with
unusual original grain painting that is meant to simulate wood. The delicate cookie corner
top is beveled with shaped vertical columns on the side stiles. There are picture framed moldings
around the door and the inside reveals the original interior with a shelf and drawer. The knob
on the drawer may be replaced. The lock is signed "Herring, Farrel & Sherman New York"
and we have the original key (all in fine working order). The base edging is cut with
a fringed frieze and corner drops. The pedestal base is wonderfully rendered with
pharaoh heads and hoof feet. The grain painting shows wear and use indicative of
