Description: Lovely walnut Victorian wall pocket. The top features open
carved winged gargoyles with each having a paw on the central crest and
a wrap
around tail. The drop down flap has intricate applied and incised
carvings
including a shield in the middle. The flap is held by small chains
to the
back frame. At some point there must have been some fabric that
connected
these two parts due to tack holes on the sides. The base also has open
carvings. There is a hole in the top of the back to hold it to the
wall. A
