Description: Fabulous quality Renaissance Revival walnut Victorian half commode made by Brunner and Moore, New York (signed inside of top drawer).
This piece has the original white marble top with cut corners. There is a minor chip on the underside of the front right side of the marble and the marble itself has some minor staining. The side corners are carved with heads with long tongues sticking out of their mouths. The drawer has a lovely carved front set into a burled panel and features a birds eye maple interior. The bottom door has both raised and recessed burled panels.
There are also burled panels on each side. One side has a slight horizontal split (see photo) The back of the commode is finished. There is a shelf in the interior of the cabinet. The moldings and carvings are enhanced with original gilt decoration. This is a very formal and fine quality half commode!
