Description: Magnificent mahogany late Victorian grandfather clock. This piece has a nine tube three weight unsigned movement with a painted revolving moon dial and the choice of Westminster or Eight bell chimes. The tubes are signed Walter Durfee and dated 1892. We had the silver rings on the face resilvered and the fancy brass filigree cleaned. The clock was original retailed by Theodore B. Starr, New York. The clock hood has an ornate carved crest and carved corners with columns on the sides. The sides of the hood have open carved panels with a thin black fabric on the inside. The unusual feature of this clock is the bowed front including a bowed glass front door. The movement has been cleaned and is in fine working order. A very elegant and high quality grandfather clock!
