Description: Beautiful elegant mahogany grandfather clock made by Waltham
Clock Co. It was originally retailed by Bigelow Kennard Co, Boston MA. The
elegant case has brass finials, a broken arch top, openwork on the sides of
the hood, reeded columns with brass capitals and a beveled glass door in
the front. The wood has been enhanced with a wonderful inlaid design.
Beneath the original finish one can still see the rich swirly mahogany grain
of the case. This clock has a three weight five tube movement (Waltham #52)
and a very ornate face with a moon dial. The clock strikes the quarter,
half, three quarter and hour with Westminster chimes. It is pictured on
page 461 of Longcase Clocks and Standing Regulators by Tran Duy Ly. This is
a fine clock at a reasonable price!
