Description: Sensational Rococo Victorian mahogany swinging cradle on stand. It has a beautiful elegant curved frame with extensive floral carvings. There is a top pediment at one end and brass hook at the other that would have supported a valence that would have held a draped veil. This could be recreated in the fabric of your choice. The cradle itself is the most amazing wooden carved curved "bucket". It is held to the frame with an original brass rod support at either end. A small wooden wedge at one end can be swung down to keep the cradle from swinging. There is old fabric in the base of the cradle with buttons. A fancy carved cross stretcher supports the two ends. Several times each year we get a piece that makes us say "Wow." This is one of those special one-of-a-kind pieces!
