Description: Lovely solid quartered oak bookcase made by Paine's Furniture
Company, Boston, MA (original label on back - see photo). The top gallery
features a full horizontal rope turning across the back, acorn finials and incised carved returns. There is a quarter spool turned molding just under the top. The two arched top doors slide back and forth rather than swing open. There are some fancy leaf and flower carvings above each of the glasses. The sides have spool turned and reeded columns. There are two drawers in the step out base with original cast brass hardware. The interior has four adjustable shelves. A very attractive and well made bookcase!
