Description: Great Phoenix Furniture Company, Grand Rapids, Michigan late Victorian solid mahogany large bed. This bed is between full size and queen in size (58" x 75.5" between the rails). One could either purchase a custom box spring and mattress or we could alter the bed to full queen size for an additional charge. The massive headboard and footboard have a recessed panel in the middle. The side of each has a diamond carved and burled column along with extensive applied carved and incised carved details. The siderails have a long raised figured mahogany panel and a high carved return with a column where it joins the headboard. The large feet on the footboard have incised carvings. This bed is extremely heavy and of exceptional quality and construction. The top of the footboard is 8" thick! A very impressive bed!
