Description: Lovely Victorian walnut bed in the Aesthetic style. This stunning bed has spindles and inlay in both the head board and foot board. The former also has three raised burled horizontal panels. This bed is in amazingly fine original condition with the large castors and even the original wide slats. Black highlights were used as an embellishment. We believe this bed was made by Herter Bros, NYC. The inlay is very similar to Fig 104 pg 219 in "Herter Brothers Furniture and Interiors for a Gilded Age" Harry N. Abrams, Inc, Publishers. This bed is smaller than full size and would have to have a custom order box spring and mattress.
