Description: Fabulous Renaissance Revival walnut Victorian portfolio
holder. The top crest features a round metal plaque of a cherub and two
woman supporting the top shelf. These have been repainted and we are unsure
if they are original. The entire frame has all original gilt incised
carvings with black highlights. Some of the black highlights have been
touched up. There is an inlaid panel with flowers, musical instruments and
leaves on both the back of the gallery and the fold out lid. The lid inlay
is set into a recessed burled panel. The lid folds out and is supported by
a chain on each side. There is a raised burled panel on the sides along
with a raised convex incised round medallion. The bottom has slots with
fancy cutouts to separate the sheet music. This piece has all the "bells
and whistles"!
